Glenwood swimmers score home wins

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – Freshman Ashley Roper won a pair of events, helping the Glenwood Springs girls swimming and diving team to wins over visiting Montrose (95-89) and Gunnison (121-64) on Saturday.

Roper swam to first in both the 50-yard freestyle (26.58 seconds) and the 500 freestyle (5:47.09) as the Demons were winners at the Glenwood Springs Community Center pool.

Also winning an event for Glenwood was freshman Hannah Grumley (100 butterfly, 1:04.19).



Demon relay teams were victorious in the 200 medley relay (2:00.91) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:59.37).

Roper, Keevyn Scholl, Grumley and Kierra Kalakewich swam the 200 medley and Rebecca Carcaterra, Grumley, Lily Thorsen and Roper swam the 400 free relay.
