Glenwood VA medical open house takes place Monday

Staff Report

The Glenwood Springs Veterans Telehealth Clinic, 2425 South Grand Ave., Suite 101, will host an open house from 2-4 p.m. Monday, July 27.

The event will feature demonstrations of telemedicine equipment used by primary and specialty care providers, as well as for mental health appointments.

Leadership from the Grand Junction Veterans Health Care System and clinic staff will be on hand to take questions and discuss local veterans’ needs. In addition, assistance will be available for veterans and veterans survivors who would like to know if they are eligible for VA health care or other benefits. The local Elks Lodge will provide snacks and drinks for the event.

The event, which Grand Junction Veterans Affairs official Paul Sweeney said was scheduled at the suggestion of the Post Independent, is open to the public.

Veterans, their spouses and survivors will be eligible to enter a drawing for the following tickets donated by the Garfield County Fair Board:

• A pair of tickets for the Gary Allen Concert Aug. 8. (One of the tickets includes a meet and greet with the artist).

• A second pair of tickets for the Gary Allen Concert (also includes one meet and greet).

• Six pairs of tickets for the PRCA Pro Rodeo Aug. 6.

That evening, the Aspen Elks Lodge, 510 E. Hyman Ave. No. 300 will host a Veterans Town hall from 6-8 p.m. Parking around the lodge is limited, so please be prepared to park a few blocks away.
