Glenwood Springs High School senior Mariah Martin is headed to Hesston College in Hesston, Kan., to play women’s soccer.
Martin, a forward/outside-midfielder, brings a polished skill set that will boost the Larks’ offensive attack in 2011, in what will be coach Bryan Kehr’s second year at the helm of Hesston women’s soccer.
A letter-winner in each of the past two seasons, Martin is a key part a Glenwood’s program that made three consecutive postseason appearances.
A scholar-athlete as a junior at Glenwood Springs, Martin excels in the classroom and will study Bible at Hesston. She is a member of Glenwood Springs Mennonite Church.
“Mariah is a great student and a strong addition to the Hesston College community and the women’s soccer team,” Kehr said. “Mariah is a proven goal scorer who will have an immediate impact on our women’s soccer program. She is an intelligent player who makes her teammates better.”
Martin is the daughter of Lauren and Kim Martin.
In soccer, Hesston College competes in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Located 30 miles north of Wichita, Hesston College is the two-year liberal arts college of Mennonite Church USA.
