Grand Ave. water line construction continues
Construction work on the water line replacement project will continue in the 800 block of Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs this week.
Motorists are reminded that left turns from Grand Avenue at 8th, 9th and 10th are prohibited 24 hours a day for the duration of the construction project. The idea is to keep two lanes of through traffic moving in each direction throughout the project.
The RFTA bus stop in front of the Forest Service building is moved one block up Grand Avenue, to the front of the old St. Stephen’s church, while construction is under way on the east side of the street.
Parking is prohibited along the east side of Grand Avenue in the construction zone. Public parking is still available on the side streets and the public lots in the downtown area.
All downtown merchants remain open for business.
The project is scheduled to be finished by Halloween.
