RIFLE – Grand River Hospital District has a new interim chief executive officer.Michael Raymond, who was the district’s chief financial officer for more than two years, will take over for departing CEO Pat Howery. Howery served his last day last week after more than five years in the organization’s top administrative position.Raymond was one of three finalists to interview for the spot.”Out of the three candidates we interviewed, Mike interviewed the best,” said Bruce Mills, president of the hospital district’s board of directors.Mills said the board will take the next 60 to 75 days to evaluate Raymond’s leadership style while reconsidering the more than 130 applicants who sent resumes.Raymond will be both acting CEO and CFO, also a board-appointed position, until the board makes a decision.”I think because I’ve never held the title of CEO before, they want to try me out first,” he said.Contact Amanda Holt Miller: 625-3245, ext.
