Great breakfast at Sunrise Scramble

Dear Editor,

While visiting my friend, Jim Bell, in Rifle, I had the great fortune to twice visit the Sunrise Scramble in Parachute.

This is a jewel nestled in tiny Parachute that offers daily specials of quiche and homemade bread. I even challenged the cook and ordered an egg-white omelette (something most big restaurants won’t provide) and they didn’t blink, but produced a wonderful and healthy omelette. The roasted potatoes were also delicious.

Hats off to the Sunrise Scramble and although the locals of Parachute, Rifle, etc., probably don’t want the secret out of the bag, this is one of the best breakfast (and probably lunch) spots in Colorado.

It’s worth the drive for anyone on the West Slope or, for that matter, in the United States. When I return, my first request will be “Let’s go to the Scramble for breakfast.”
