Gregory Alan Wood Jr.

Gregory Alan Wood Jr, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Rifle. He was 32.

Greg was born Oct. 17, 1972, in Denver, to Gregory Alan Wood Sr. and Mary Jane Nolan Wood.

He graduated from Glenwood Springs High School.



Greg married Kelly Davis on Aug. 28, 1998, in Rifle.

He was a construction painter in Rifle for the 17 years. He was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Rifle, was involved in his church and loved Jesus.



Greg loved to hunt and fish. He was family-oriented and loved his kids and his nieces and nephews. He loved to teach all kids how to play sports. Greg had a spirit of excellence and could fix anything. He always said, “Give me some bailing wire and duct tape, and I can fix it.”

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mary Jane Wood, of Parachute; sons Gregory Alan Wood III (age 9) and Matthew Jacob Wood (age 3); daughter Cheyenne Lee Wood (age 6); sister April (Jason) Shaver, of Parachute; nieces and nephews Jason, Jori and Jacob Shaver.

He was preceded in death by his father.

There is a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Fellowship Church, 229 West Avenue, in Rifle. Pastor Mark Opstien will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Alpine Bank for the children of Gregory Alan Wood Jr.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
