Gregory Dean Thompson, 52, passed away Nov. 8, 2008, at Rose Medical Center in Denver.

Gregory was born Nov. 13, 1955, at Rose Medical Center in Denver, to John Thompson and Versa (Bowman) Burns.

Gregory married Helen J. (Dickson) Thompson June 19, 1976, in Castle Rock.

Gregory has been an area resident for 19 years. He was a sergeant for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Department.

Gregory is survived by his wife; son Gregory D. Thompson Jr.; daughter Heather R. Gorombol; brothers Kevin Thompson and Jerry Thompson; sister Kathy Bitterman; three grandchildren; and too many nieces, nephews and friends to count.

Gregory was preceded in death by stepfather Lee Burns; father In-law Charles Dickson; and brother in-law Fred Bitterman.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Eagle River Center 749 Fair Grounds Road. Dave Pearson will officiate. Child care will be provided by 4H volunteers from noon-3 p.m. at the exhibit hall.

Memorial contributions can be made to I.L.D. Fund, National Jewish Hospital, 1400 Jackson St., Denver CO 80206. Checks or money orders restricted to Greg Thompson.
