Group lands award-winning Western musicians

Music as big as the Western sky will open the season for members of the Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association.The trio New West plays Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. Admission is by membership in the association. New West pays tribute to the rancher, the vaquero, and the men and women of the American West. The band features award-winning songwriter and guitarist Michael Fleming, lead guitarist and mandolin player Paul Reynoso, and David Jackson on bass. Since its debut, New West has won three best song awards from the Academy of Western Artists and the Western Music Association, as well as the Will Rogers Award for best Western group.The GSCCA has planned four other performances this year: Concertante Nov. 9, the New York Theatre Ballet’s “Nutcracker” Nov. 29, the Budapest Clarinet Quartet on Feb. 25, and the Glenn Millet Orchestra on May 10.The GSCCA has planned four other performances this year: Concertante Nov. 9, the New York Theatre Ballet’s “Nutcracker” Nov. 29, the Budapest Clarinet Quartet on Feb. 25, and the Glenn Millet Orchestra on May 10.
