GSHS FBLA students go to state conference

On, April 27, 14 Glenwood Springs High School Future Business Leaders of America students attended the FBLA state conference in Vail. Glenwood students prevailed over 325 other competitors from throughout the state.Glenwood Springs students who finished among the top 10 statewide in various FBLA categories are:-5th place: Lisa Saathoff, Public Speaking I-8th place: Zac Parsons, Impromptu Speaking-9th place: Scott Straus, Public Speaking I-9th place: Siam Luu, Job SearchAbby Willman and Jacob Ziemann competed to become state officers. A nominating committee interviewed them. Each candidate had to give a speech and prepare campaign materials. Following are the results:-Colorado State FBLA District 9 Vice President: Abby Willman-Colorado State FBLA Reporter: Jacob ZiemannThe students also attended motivational and leadership speeches and seminars at the Vail Cascade and Marriott Hotels and competed in individual events.Cathy Gotfredson of Carbondale and a crew of judges helped judge various events at state. Kathy Whiting is the local GSHS FBLA advisor.
