GSHS first day of school Q&A
What do you think of the construction? I live pretty close to the school so I’ve gotten used to it. I can’t wait until it’s finished. The school looks great already. What do you like about the new addition? I love the classrooms. It’s very new age, and there’s a lot of light. It’s very open, and the roof doesn’t leak. What don’t you like about it? It’s hot. (The air conditioner was having problems on the first day but was expected to be fixed.)Do you miss anything about the old version of the school? What it stood for – all the old traditions and the people that passed through it.How was your first day? It was good. It was long, and I was kind of dreading it, but it went pretty well. Being a senior is bittersweet.
What do you think of the construction? It’s definitely different. I’m not used to walking around with it so chaotic, but it will be nice when it’s finished. What do you like about the new addition? I like how it’s a lot more open. It’s more windows and sunlight. I like how all the classrooms are set up. What don’t you like about it? I want more colors. We need posters or colors or something, and I want grass outside.Do you miss anything about the old version of the school? The memories. How was your first day? It was all right. It’s definitely the realization of being a senior.
What do you think of the construction? It’s weird. It’s really different to be a senior and come into a brand new school I’ve never been in. It feels like something new. What do you like about the new addition? It’s big. There’s no clutter anywhere besides the construction. Everything seems really clean and new. There’s no asbestos. What don’t you like about it? It doesn’t really feel like a school. It feels like a business place you go in to have meetings, but it could be because it’s unfinished.Do you miss anything about the old version of the school? Not really the building, but just the memories. How was your first day? It was good. I’m looking forward to my senior year.
What do you think of the construction? It’s new and it’s hard to find your way around, but you get used to it fairly easily. The high school experience is kind of cool. What do you like about the new addition? The building is more modern. Compared to the older building it’s a lot more up to date. What don’t you like about it? Just the lockers because they’re like the middle school lockers. And the fact that it isn’t finished.Do you miss anything about the old version of the school? Actually I was at the old school for a while because I participated in the high school drum line. The roof leaked and a lot of things, but it just kind of felt like a home. How was your first day? It was decent. It was lots of talking and explaining things. All around it was a pretty decent day for school.
