GSHS thanks Hot Springs Lodge & Pool

Craig A. Denney, Teacher/Head Football CoachSandy DeCrow, Teacher/P.E. Dept. Head Jim Hoffman, Teacher/Assistant Head Football Coach

The staff and students at Glenwood Springs High School would like to recognize the marvelous generosity of the Hot Springs Lodge and Pool concerning their donation of weight room equipment. We, at the high school, often see financial support from the community, but very seldom do we see gifts of this magnitude. The Hot Springs Lodge and Pool donated thirteen machines to enhance the training of students and athletes in the physical education classroom. The weight room at GSHS is one of the most used areas in the high school facility, accommodating between 120-160 students on any given day. This equipment has made the room a more inviting place and has changed the overall atmosphere. Many times the larger business entities in a small town are chastised because of their seeming lack of interest in the community’s needs. Therefore, we would like to point out that this donation was precipitated by a phone call from the Hot Springs Lodge and Pool to the high school asking us if we could use the equipment. Kudos to those in charge at the Hot Springs Lodge and Pool and to the members of their board of directors!Thank you for caring about the students in your hometown!Sincerely,Craig A.
