Hannah Margaret Browning

Hannah Margaret Browning of Parachute died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was 82.

She was born April 19, 1919, at Hamlin, Texas, to Clingman and Myrtle (Peel) Hudson. She grew up in Hamlin and graduated from Hamlin High School.

She married W.L. “Dub” Browning on June 16, 1946, at Coleman, Texas. They lived in Texas, Illinois and California, and lived in Parachute for the past nine years.

Mrs. Browning was a member of the Grand Valley United Methodist Church of Parachute and other church groups.

She enjoyed duplicate bridge, Internet bridge, sewing, handwork and crossword puzzles.

She was known as a friend to everyone.

Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by a sister, Ozzie Harlow, and a brother, Cling Hudson Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Dub Browning of Parachute; by sons Steve Browning of San Francisco and Alan Browning of Littleton; by sisters Ida Deran and Margie Williams, both of Texas; and by one grandson, Jason Browning.

A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Grand Valley United Methodist Church, 132 N. Parachute Ave. in Parachute, with the Rev. David Amrie officiating.

Mrs. Browning’s ashes will be scattered at the Shrine of Remembrance in Colorado Springs.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
