Harold E. Jaroch
Harold E. Jaroch of New Castle died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. He was 87.
He was born May 10, 1915, in Michigan City, Ind., to Anna Bielski and Michael Jaroch.
Mr. Jaroch earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1941 and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1952.
He taught school in Rifle and Silt before moving to Trenton, Mich., where he taught for the bulk of his career. He was named to the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1970, and to the Trenton Sports Hall of Fame in 1978.
He married Phyllis I. Coles of New Castle, and she preceded him in death.
He later married Betty Lou Powers of Michigan; she, too, preceded him in death.
He moved back to New Castle in 2001.
Mr. Jaroch is survived by daughters Jane Bradley of New Castle, and Betty Marie Jaroch of California; by granddaughters Debbie Anne Moeller of Silt, Michelle I. Eichman of Montana, and Jo Ellyn Bradley of Boise, Idaho; and by five great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will spread his ashes this summer.
