Harry Leroy Garton

Harry Leroy Garton died Oct. 20, 2007, peacefully as he slept.”Roy ” was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Oatman, Ariz.He was happily married for 54 years to Rosa Lee Muncy. He spent his life enjoying family and friends. He was known for his friendliness and sense of humor, and he always had a song to sing.Roy was known to many in the valley for his zeal and devotion to a work he had been active in for 75 years. He taught people from the Bible that the only solution to mankind’s suffering is divine intervention by means of God’s heavenly kingdom through Christ Jesus.He is survived by daughter Roslyn Hamby; grandchildren Zeb, Geri, Rachel, Jesse and David James; great-grandchildren Isaac, Jonas and Gideon; and sister Alice Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife; and son Kenneth. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 0097 Lions Ridge Road in Carbondale.
