Harvey Lee "H.L." Blevins

Harvey Lee “H.L.” Blevins passed away March 21, 2007, in Glenwood Springs.He was born July 10, 1925, in Fox, Okla., to Harvey and Aribelle (Hunter) Blevins.He married Bobbye Grace Covey June 25, 1949, in Dallas. He was a World War II veteran and served his country from 1942-45 in the Army in the South Pacific, and again in the Korean War in the Marines.”H.L.” was a public school teacher and basketball coach prior to retirement. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Casper, Wyoming, and attended services at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Glenwood Springs. His passions included his family and friends, coaching and playing basketball, hunting, fishing, golf, and dancing. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a story to tell. Survivors include son Thomas P. “Teep” Blevins; daughters Belinda Knievel and Susan Blevins; grandchildren Jennifer Knievel, Christopher Knievel, Hunter Blevins and Weston Blevins. Harvey L. Blevins was preceded in death by his wife. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 24 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 546 Hyland Park Dr. in Glenwood Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests and appreciates donations to the charity of your choice. Farnum Holt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
