Heather Atchison Meadows

Heather Atchison Meadows of Silt died on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, in Rifle after a difficult battle with cancer. She was 51.

She was born Jan. 27, 1951, in Stanford, Conn., to William B and Helen Polnicky Atchison.

She graduated from Avon High School in 1969. In 1973 she received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia.

She married Larry Meadows.

In her career, Mrs. Meadows received awards for her graphic art design in Connecticut, New York, Colorado and Wyoming. Her photographs have been exhibited in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah.

Her love of horses and the outdoors are found in her photographs and her dedication to wild horses.

Mrs. Meadows is survived by her husband, Larry Meadows of Silt; her mother, Helen Atchison of Laramie, Wyo.; her sister and brother-in-law, Holly and Nick Magna of Niantic, Conn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Marie Atchison of Arvada; and nieces and nephews Kelleen, Matt and Parker Atchison of Arvada and Sam and Emma Magna of Niantic, Conn.

Private family services are planned.

Memorial contributions in memory of Heather Atchison Meadows may be made to the Institute of Range and The American Mustang, P.O. Box 999, Hot Springs, S.D. 57747.
