Hejtmanek tops field at the Cheatin’ Woodchuck Chase

Josh Hejtmanek won Saturday’s Cheatin’ Woodchuck Chase five-mile race, clocking in at 27 minutes, 59.74 seconds on a course that winds through Rifle Mountain Park.

Finishing second was John Stroud in 29:52.74 and Eddie Aispuro placed third in 30:31.25.

Dana Peterson was the female winner. She timed in at 33 minutes, 37.34 seconds. Sage O’Neil was second (34:07.41) and Berry Hurst third (34:30.18).

Saturday’s Chase also featured a 2.3-mile race, which was won by Erin Schuckers in 17:02.51. Trevor Stroud finished first among males and second overall, recording a time of 17:03.66. Will Rose placed third overall (17:05.03).
