Helen Hasiak

Helen Hasiak, of Rifle, passed away May 6, 2005 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. She was 85. A private family service has been held.Helen was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Philadelphia, to Joseph and Mary (Delarosa) Marcinkiewicz. She spent her childhood in Philadelphia. Helen married Anthony Hasiak Sr. in Maryland in 1937. Helen lived in Bucks County, Pa., before moving to Garfield County in 1978.She was a member of the Baptist Church and was a Girl Scout leader for five years. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, and fishing. She loved her children and grandchildren.Survivors include three sons, Anthony Hasiak Jr., of Placerville, Calif., Tom Hasiak, of Rifle, and Gary Hasiak, of Williams, Ariz.; two daughters, Janice Balderston, of DeBeque, and Robin Rosa, of Parachute; one brother, Frank Marcinkiewicz, of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.Her husband, parents, three sisters and seven brothers preceded Helen in death.Services were directed by Callahan Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction.
