Helen Janice Hutson

Helen Janice Hutson, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., died June 28, 2002, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was 82.

Mrs. Hutson was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Virginia, Ill., to Harry Schaefer and Lola Berry.

Mrs. Hutson lived in Glenwood Springs since 1996. Previously she lived in Illinois and Boulder, Colo.

Mrs. Hutson owned and operated The Livery Stable Restaurant in Carbondale in the late ’70s.

Mrs. Hutson was a member of the Church at Carbondale. She loved cooking, picnics, jeeping and the outdoors.

Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by husband Verlen Hutson and son Larry Hutson.

Mrs. Hutson is survived by son and daughter-in-law James and Patricia Hutson, of Beardstown, Ill.; daughter Marsha Hutson, of Glenwood Springs; grandsons Matt Hutson of Beardstown, Todd Hutson of Crested Butte, Chris Hutson of Silverton, Colo., and Keith Hutson of Illinois; and granddaughter Caprice Cordova of Illinois.

Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. at Farnum-Holt Chapel, in Glenwood Springs. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs with pastor Doug Self officiating.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at the Church of Carbondale, 70 Snowmass Drive, Carbondale CO 81623.
