Helena Jandura

Helena Jandura, 50, died of hypothermia in Glenwood Springs on Dec. 13, 2005.She was born June 17, 1955, to Franciszek and Ludwina (Peleca) Jandura in Vokopanea, Poland.Helena lived in Glenwood Springs for 15 years and was a much-loved member of the local homeless community. Much of that time, she was employed as a nurses aid. Everyone in Glenwood was Helena’s friend. She spent the past six years with her good friend, Mark.She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church.Helena will be missed by all who knew her.She is survived by her boyfriend, Mark; mother; and sisters Sophia and Maria Jandura.She was preceded in death by her father and sister Anna.There will be a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church, 824 Cooper Ave., Glenwood Springs, with the Rev. Lee Price officiating.Burial will take place in Rockaway, N.J.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Feed My Sheep Ministry for the Homeless, P.O. Box 842, New Castle, CO 81647 or Catholic Charities, 1010 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.Farnum Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
