Hometown Holidays returns to Rifle once more, running through Thursday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Dec. 8 and there will be impacts to traffic.

On Friday night, Dec. 6, Third St. will be completely closed for “The Grinch Steals Third Street”, from 4-8 p.m.

The official tree lighting ceremony will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7.in Centennial Park. Fireworks will be at 5:30 p.m., set off at Rifle Middle School, which will necessitate the closure of Rifle Creek Trail at 5 p.m.

Railroad Ave. will be closed at 4 p.m. in both directions from 14th St. to Centennial Pkwy. These closures will remain in place until after the parade, with an anticipated closure of up to four hours.

Anyone who parks at the Rifle Middle School parking lot will not be able to leave until the parade has ended and Railroad Ave. has been officially reopened. Vehicles exiting from that location will only be allowed to turn right onto Railroad Ave. to facilitate expeditious traffic flow.
