Hospital district offers scholarships

It’s time for high school seniors to start thinking about colleges and scholarships, if they haven’t already.The Grand River Hospital District is offering $1,000 scholarships to students intending to study in any of the many health-care-related fields – nursing, radiology, pathology, pre-med, medical coding, etc.The scholarships must be used at any college, university or technical school during the fall of 2006. They are good for tuition, books and other fees and are paid to the institution.To be eligible, applicants must live within the Grand River Hospital District, which stretches from New Castle to DeBeque. Anyone who has previously received a scholarship is ineligible.To apply, fill out the application at http://www.grhd.org. Applications are also available at the Grand Valley High School and Rifle High School counseling offices as well as the public relations office at the Grand River Medical Center, located at 501 Airport Road in Rifle.
