Hotel holds lots of laughs
Stand-up comedy is back at the Hotel Colorado.
Two nationally known comedians will perform in the Devereux Ballroom at 8 p.m. today. Material is good-natured fun and appropriate for all ages.
Headliner David Bublitz, winner of the “Funniest Person in Colorado” contest, has opened for acts including Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Louie Anderson and Steve Harvey. Bublitz has also been seen on Showtime’s Comedy Club Network and Comedy Central. The wide appeal of his clean comedy makes him appropriate for Glenwood Springs.
The evening’s opening act is Phil Porter, one of the “Freshest New Faces” in comedy in 2001. Porter began his career in San Antonio as a member of acclaimed sketch comedy troupe Laffstock, before exploring his distinctive voice in standup. His blend of colorful observations with an intellectual wit make his shows dynamically engaging.
Tickets are $18 and advanced reservations are recommended. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. Call 945-6511, ext. 109, to purchase tickets or for more information.
