How long before American streets contain same images as Iraq, Palestine?

Post Independent Writer

Dear Editor,How long, I wonder, before the streets of America are filled with the same scenes as in Israel, Palestine and Iraq, to name a few, with red-faced “believers,” fists up, raised in defense of their god? Or, as recently in Alabama, a manmade, 20th century carving on a boulder? The sight of people stretched out prone, face down, praying in the public square seemed somehow familiar, as I watched the scene in Alabama. Didn’t Jesus say something about “praying on street corners to be seen of men,” as in – don’t?And wasn’t there something re: “The Law” (Ten Commandments) that if we “break one, we’ve broken them all” and they would be written on our hearts and minds as opposed to stone? What about our hypocrisy that in that “no one has ever kept the ‘Ten’ or never really wanted to”?But, I guess these questions are left to better minds than mine. I just hope it’s not the neck-bulging, spitting one I just saw on the morning news, nor the right-wing keepers of the faith in Washington, D.C.Sharon RobynParachute
