Husband-and-wife authors visit Roaring Fork Valley

A professional book reviewer and a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, who also happen to be married, will appear in the valley this month during two winter reading series events.Author and reviewer Jean Hanff Korelitz will read from and discuss her newly released third novel, “The White Rose,” at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 17, at Town Center Booksellers, 211 Midland Ave., Basalt.Korelitz is also the author of a book of poems, “The Properties of Breath,” and two other novels, “A Jury Of Her Peers” and “The Sabbathday River.”She is the wife of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon, who will present at the Aspen Writers’ Foundation’s Winter Words series of readings and talks at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. He is the author of “Moy Sand and Gravel” and “Poems 1968-1998.” Born in Northern Ireland, he is a professor of humanities at Princeton University who has been heralded as “the most significant English-language poet born since World War II.”Korelitz’s reading and book signing is a free event. Tickets for Muldoon’s presentation are $20 and are available at the Wheeler Box Office at 920-5770 and the Aspen Writer’s Foundation at 925-3122. All Winter Words events start at 5:30 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m.
