I-70 eastbound at New Castle and westbound in Glenwood Canyon reopened after separate crashes
Interstate 70 eastbound at the New Castle exit and westbound in Glenwood Canyon were both closed for a brief time after separate crashes Wednesday afternoon, but are now reopened as of 1:30 p.m.
According to traffic alerts from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, the New Castle stretch was closed at about 12:19 p.m. due to a crash, and traffic was diverted onto U.S. 6.
At about the same time that section was reopened at 1:20 p.m., westbound I-70 in Glenwood Canyon was closed at mile marker 120 due to a separate crash. It was reopened within minutes.
This is a developing story. Check back later for any further highway closure information.
