I-70 EB now open at Silverthorne after car fire, multiple spinouts

Staff report

Update 11:05 a.m.: I-70 EB has reopened at the Silverthorne exit.

There is also a commercial vehicle chain law currently in effect on CO-9 at Hoosier Pass, along with on I-70 between Bakerville to the tunnel.

The Colorado State Patrol is reporting Interstate 70 eastbound is closed at milemarker 205 in Silverthorne due to a car fire in the Eisenhower Tunnel and multiple spin outs on the tunnel grade. Expect delays — unknown time for re-open at this point.

This is a developing story.
