I-70 ramps to be closed for paving

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be resurfacing several Interstate 70 ramps in the Glenwood Springs area on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20 and 21, as the I-70 Glenwood Springs West paving project nears completion.The ramp work will occur during non-peak traffic periods; however, motorists should plan at least 10 extra minutes to use detour routes.On Friday, the I-70 westbound on- and off-ramps at Exit 114 (West Glenwood Springs) will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon. Motorists can access West Glenwood Springs and westbound I-70 via Highway 6 and Exit 116 (Glenwood Springs). The I-70 eastbound on-ramp at Exit 114 will be closed from noon until 6 p.m. Motorists can access eastbound I-70 at Exit 116 in Glenwood Springs. The I-70 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 114 will be closed from 2-6 p.m. Motorists will be able to access West Glenwood Springs via Exit 116 and Highway 6.On Saturday, the I-70 westbound on-ramp at Exit 116 will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon. Motorists will be able to access westbound I-70 at West Glenwood Springs via Highway 6. The I-70 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 116 will be closed from noon until 6 p.m. Motorists will be able to access Glenwood Springs from I-70 at Exit 114.Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct motorists, and advance-warning and portable variable-message signs will also be used to aid motorists.
