I-70 surface repair in Glenwood Canyon begins Tuesday

GARFIELD COUNTY ” Repair work to Interstate 70 through the Glenwood Canyon will begin Tuesday, Sept. 9. The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin work to repair longitudinal surface cracks between mile marker 118 and mile marker 131, in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Work will be performed Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and may require weekend work throughout the project in order to expedite the project for completion before winter. This schedule will last through the expected completion date in mid-October and will involve single-lane closures and up to 15 minute travel delays are possible, depending upon traffic volume.

The work area will encompass the Hanging Lake Tunnel which is approximately mile marker 125. The project involves routing and sealing the asphalt center-line longitudinal joint.
