If you think Glenwood is the best, then vote

Glenwood Springs, already recognized as the nation’s Most Fun Town in 2011, has a chance to be named Best Town.
Period.
Who can argue?
Outside Magazine is partnering with outdoor apparel company Toad&Co to find the best town in the United States. Over a period of six weeks, Outside’s readers will narrow an initial bracket of 64 towns down to one winner: the kind of place with top-notch restaurants, vibrant farmers’ markets, friendly neighborhoods, and unparalleled access to hiking and biking trails. In short, the perfect jumping-off point for adventure.
Voting starts today at outsideonline.com/vote; Outside’s Best Town will be revealed on Aug. 1.
Mayor Michael Gamba already knows which town is best.
“Living, working and playing in Glenwood Springs is an alternative lifestyle choice — the best alternative,” he said. “We have so many unparalleled options for how we spend our weekdays and weekends. We take it for granted that our backyard includes hot springs, miles of hiking and biking trails, world-class fishing, rafting, skiing and breathtaking scenery. Our restaurant and summer music scene is exploding and our civic amenities continue to improve and support the livability of our community. I wouldn’t live any place else.”
Outside’s Best Town will be chosen through a head-to-head format through six rounds of voting. Readers will be able to vote once per round for each match-up. The winners will advance until the final two towns face off in a showdown to determine which is the Best Town of 2015.
After the close of voting and prior to the Best Towns September issue editorial feature, Outside will profile various towns within the final bracket. Outside will feature the final 16 towns in its September 2015 issue.
Some of the competition seems tough: Santa Fe, Flagstaff, Hilo and Pagosa Springs. Other towns seem a little puzzling, none more so than Detroit and Houston. Glenwood Springs may be outnumbered, but its history suggests that it’s a legitimate contender.
