Irene E. Frigge

Irene E. Frigge of New Castle died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Littleton. She was 61.

She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Tabor, S.D., to Joseph and Edna Navratil.

She married Chuck Frigge.



Mrs. Frigge was a winemaker, an avid gardener and an active community volunteer. She participated in the Burning Mountains Festival, particularly the Bed Race, and was a member of the New Castle Chamber of Commerce and the Silt Historical Society.

She was named the New Castle volunteer of the year for 2000.



Her children often told her, “You are the best mom a kid could ask for.”

Mrs. Frigge is survived by her husband, Chuck Frigge of New Castle; by daughters and sons-in-law Dawn and Steve Frigge-Hartlaub, and Holly and Greg Haan; by son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Kristee Frigge; and by grandchildren Sierra, Sage and Logan Frigge-Hartlaub, Allie and Jordan Haan, and Chris and Courtnee Pedone.

A Rosary was held Tuesday, July 8, at Olinger Aurora Chase Mortuary.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Aurora.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Highland Cemetery in New Castle.

Olinger Aurora Chase Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lift-Up Food Bank in New Castle.
