Iris V. Copeland

Iris Copeland passed away in a car accident near New Castle, Colorado on Dec. 13, 2009. She was born on April 6, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas to John and Ora Rhodes.

Iris lived in the Glenwood Springs area all her life. She married John R. Copeland in 1960 and had three children. She later married Wilbur Andis in 1996 and resided in Silt. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for Valley View Hospital and various doctors. Iris will be remembered for her never ending love and support of her family.

Her positive attitude and optimistic outlook put sunshine in everyone’s day. Iris is survived by her husband Wilbur Andis; daughter Diane Jackson of Parachute, sons Jonathan of Silt, and David of Grand Junction as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m., at the Crystal River Baptist Church, 2632 Hwy 133, Carbondale, Colorado with potluck following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American National Bank, Glenwood Springs.
