Irma Lillian Meisner

Irma Lillian Meisner, 78, passed away July 15 in Rifle. Irma was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Cheyenne Wells, to William T. and Lillian May Hollenbaugh. She spent part of her childhood there until the family moved to Meeker. Irma graduated From Rio Blanco County High School in 1946 and attended Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction. Irma married Edward H. (Bud) Meisner in 1947. They made their home in Meeker and Rifle, raising two sons. Irma worked as an accountant, retiring from Cleveland Cliffs. She and Bud spent many wonderful years traveling after retirement. Irma enjoyed reading, needlepoint, crocheting and her computer. Irma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is best known by her ever-present smile, bright eyes and zest for life. Irma is survived by her husband; son James (Susan) Meisner of Richland, Wash., and Daryl (Mary) Meisner of Rifle; grandchildren Chris (Melinda) Meisner, Janeal (Matthew) Weisbrod, and Jason (Sarah) Meisner; great-grandchildren Owen, Andrew and Morgan; as well as many other loving family members and caring friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Rifle United Methodist Church.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
