It’s Election Day!

This is it.Election Day. Starting today at 7 a.m., voters who didn’t take advantage of early voting and absentee voting will need to get to the polls to cast their vote. The polls will close at 7 p.m.Garfield County voters will have a choice at the polls with an option to vote in the traditional way, on a paper ballot, or on one of the county’s new voting machines. The eSlate will be in all polling places.Election judges will be available for voters unfamiliar with the electronic voting machines.Voters will be required to provide identification. The voter’s name and address is checked against the voter registration rolls to make sure they are eligible to vote. Then they are given a voter identification number, which has been assigned to every registered voter in the county.Due to the bulk of this year’s ballot, voters might need 10 minutes or more to get through it.
