J.W. Weaver

J.W. Weaver of Rifle died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at his home. He was 72.

He was born April 30, 1930, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Alta Cloe Ellis and Ollie Oscar Weaver.

He married Thelma Husted on Sept. 16, 1950, in Delta.

They previously lived in Cedaredge, before moving to Rifle in 1959.

Mr. Weaver worked as a fence builder and a wood cutter.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood crafts.

He was preceded in death by sisters Billie Jean Weaver and Jennive Moss.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Thelma Weaver of Rifle; by sons and daughter-in-law Wendell and Patty Weaver, and Ronald Weaver; by daughters and son-in-law Losella and Leo Duran, and Claudia Weaver; by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Donna Weaver; and by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
