Jamie Linn Jackson

Jamie Linn Jackson of Silt died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home, following a long illness. She was 26.

She was born April 20, 1977, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., to Mary Luckett and Al Jackson.

She graduated from Camelback High School in 1995, and attended a veterinary trade school in Phoenix. She worked as a veterinarian’s assistant, but was not working at the time of her death.

She moved to Silt in 1997.

Ms. Jackson loved nature and animals. She would visit animal shelters from Grand Junction to Glenwood Springs in order to spend time and share her love with the animals. She worked hard to find homes for homeless animals.

Ms. Jackson is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary and Steve Hackett of Silt; by her father and stepmother, Al and Lisa Jackson of Phoenix; by her longtime sweetheart, T.J. Sifers of Silt; by grandparents Helen and Lou Luckett of Phoenix; by many aunts, uncles and cousins; and by many furry friends, including Deckxter, Harley, Smudge and Bailey.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at Callahan Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction. Burial will follow at the Silt Cemetery.

Callahan Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue service or animal shelter of choice, in honor of Ms. Jackson’s love for all creatures.
