Janell Jerome Senteney

Post Independent
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

On Jan. 16, 2013, Janell (Jill) Senteney passed away after a courageous battle against cancer. Jill was at home, in Parachute, with her family by her side. She was 61.

Jill was born in Bagley, MN, and was a loving daughter to Claire and Marge Jerome.

The Roaring Fork Valley was Jill’s home for 31 years. She was a skilled musician, songwriter, artist and dog groomer. Her friends will remember her for her smile, wonderful loving spirit, quick wit and unconditional love for animals, puppies, and, her favorite, schnauzers.

Jill was an amazing mother and is survived by her sons, Chris Johnson and Shawn Johnson of Carbondale; her husband Doug Senteney; sister Linda; brother Rick; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and the father of her children, Ed Johnson.

We miss her dearly, and are so thankful that she left us with so many laughs and great memories. Now is a time for reflection and togetherness to honor her memory, thank her for being such an important part of our lives and to wish her the best on her next chapter.

A celebration of Jill’s life, with a slide show, will be held on March 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Town Hall in Carbondale. All friends are invited to attend. Please contact Chris Johnson at 379-8413 for more information.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to CARE in Jill’s name would be greatly appreciated.
