Janet Marie Mayhew

Janet Marie Mayhew, who recently moved to Rifle from Dallas, died Thursday, April 24, 2003. She was 40.

She was born July 19, 1962, in Oceanside, Calif., to Paula Ruth Porter and Jerry Lee Killgo. She grew up in California and Texas.

She earned an associate’s degree in science.

Ms. Mayhew was formerly a nurse, but in recent years she was disabled.

She loved the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry Killgo Sr. in 1994 and Paula Killgo on March 6, 2003.

Ms. Mayhew is survived by daughters Jennifer Killgo and her fiance, Gerry Fitz-Gerald, of Rifle, and Jessica Killgo and her boyfriend, Darren Thompson, of Weatherford, Texas; by brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry Killgo and his friend Robin Burleson of Statesville, N.C., Kenneth and Betty Killgo of Corsicana, Texas, Jack and Donna Killgo of Denton, Texas, and Tommy and Melissa Killgo of Dallas; by a grandson, Christain Killgo of Weatherford, Texas; and by special friends Joyce Conner of Canton, Texas, and John Dodson of Dallas.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Fellowship of the Rockies Church, 1224 Railroad Ave. in Rifle.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at Fellowship of the Rockies Church, with the Rev. Don Wagner officiating.

Cremation will follow.

Cochran Memorial Chapel of Meeker is in charge of arrangements.
