Jay Andrew Kuenne

Jay Andrew Kuenne of Snowmass Village died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002. He was 39.

Mr. Kuenne was born Dec. 12, 1962, in San Diego, Calif., to Margaret Andrews and William Kuenne. He grew up in San Diego and Sacramento, and graduated from El Camino High School.

He attended American River College in Sacramento and the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Mr. Kuenne enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, skiing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, camping and riding horses. He loved the outdoors life.

His friends say he always had a smile on his face.

He worked as a landscaping foreman for Escape Garden Design.

Mr. Kuenne is survived by his father, William Kuenne of Sacramento; by his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Robert Nispel of La Mesa, Calif., by sisters Beth Gehring of Lancaster, Calif., and Patty Poulson of Lemon Grove, Calif.; by stepsisters Tammy Nelson of Sacramento, Kay Vines and Jean Kiggens of Bakersfield, Calif.; by stepbrother Jeff Smith of Sacramento; and by his special friend Lavell Peacock of Snowmass Village.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Snowmass Chapel in Snowmass Village.

Farnum Holt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
