Jazz Aspen Snowmass adds shows to Labor Day lineup
The Polyphonic Spree has been added to Jazz Aspen Snowmass’ Labor Day Festival, completing the event’s main-stage lineup.The Polyphonic Spree, a Texas-based choral symphonic rock band led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Tim DeLaughter, perform closing day of the festival, Sept. 4.Also added to the program for Sept. 4 is Street Drum Corps, a theatrical percussion ensemble that will play in the JAS Music Club, a second stage on the festival grounds.The 12th annual Labor Day Festival is set for Sept. 1-4 in Snowmass Town Park, in Snowmass Village. Headliners for the open-air event are country singer LeAnn Rimes, rapper Kanye West, classic rocker John Mellencamp and Hasidic reggae singer Matisyahu, all making their Jazz Aspen debuts. Additional opening acts include Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Keller Williams, Los Lonely Boys, Del Castillo and Raul Midón. Also set to play the JAS Music Club are Oteil & the Peacemakers, led by Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge; Aphrodesia; and Gnappy Funk.
