Jean Cole

Jean Cole passed away Nov. 17, 2005, at the Open Gates Assisted Living in Glenwood Springs. He was 90 years old.He was born in Lamar on Oct. 17, 1915, to Allyn and Katherine (Travis) Cole. Jean married Hermine (Dee) DeGraaf in Honolulu in 1942. He had been a resident of the area for 50 years. He was a marine engineer and worked all over in the construction of bridges. He was in Hawaii working on a dock when the bombing of Pearl Harbor occurred. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for the past 50 years. He is survived by his nephew Nelson Cole. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel, 405 W. Seventh St., Glenwood Springs.Masonic Burial Services to follow at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
