Jean Ramona Hauk

Jean Hauk died of natural causes at the Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale Nov. 10, 2005. She was 89.Jean was born February 9, 1916, in Fort Morgan to Clyde and Edna Barkley.She graduated from Colorado A&M (Colorado State University) in 1938, majoring in home economics and dietetics.Jean married Paul I. Hauk May 20, 1939, in San Antonio. They moved to Glenwood Springs in 1957. They were divorced in 1985.Jean was a member of St. Stephens Altar and Rosary Society, an avid tennis player, skier, and bridge player.Survivors include daughter Dr. Carol Ann Hauk, M.D. of Denver; grandsons Dan and Joey Hauk Weiss; former husband, Paul Hauk of Glenwood Springs; and stepsister Jacque Aucoin.She was preceded in death by a son, Rick.Cremation has taken place.A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
