Jerry Decker

On December 7, 2008, a football was thrown into Heaven and Jerry Decker couldn’t resist the tackle, so he chased after the receiver and won! He decided cancer wasn’t worth missing the big game for anymore, so he suited up and peacefully took his place on the team. As his cheerleader, I cheered him on to victory and am thankful for the many years of practice he dedicated to “Our team.”

He lived well, fought hard, and loved like he was in the end zone every day.

Taisha, Rayvin, Preston, and I will miss him like crazy, but we are glad to have the ultimate MVP on the other side helping to call our plays.

We ask that you mark your calendars for January 22, 2009, to celebrate his life. Keep an eye out for details closer to the date.

Thanks for the 17 years of love and memories Gerald Ray, you will be missed!

Your head cheerleader, Vikki.
