Jo Ann Land Haywood

Jo Ann Land Haywood, of Mesquite, Nev., died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at her home. She was 58.

She was born March 14, 1944, to John William and Thelma Lee Kuykendall Land in Temple, Texas.

On Feb. 17, 1962, she married Donald Lavern Haywood in Temple. The couple moved to Wyoming and raised their family in Idaho and Colorado. Mrs. Haywood worked for 11 years at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colo., as a chef.

Mrs. Haywood moved to Mesquite, Nev., in November 1996. She enjoyed cooking and reading. Her greatest joy came from being a homemaker and mother.

She is survived by husband Donald; daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Eddie Morris, of Missoula, Mont., Jonna Henson, of Orofino, Idaho, and Crissie and Doug LaBare, of Missoula; son Donnie Haywood, of Glenwood Springs; 10 grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law Clinton and Olga Land, of Bullhead City, Ariz., and David Ritchie Land, of Galveston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 Old Mill Road, Mesquite. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary.
