John Franklin Dwire

John Franklin Dwire, 73, passed away Dec. 10, 2006, in Casa Grande, Ariz.He was born Aug. 15, 1933, in New Castle, to John W. and Nora K. Dwire. He graduated from New Castle High School and from Western State College of Colorado with bachelor’s and master’s degrees.John served in the U.S. Army and as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.He married Betty Ann Miller June 2, 1961.He was a teacher of mathematics and history. He was also a logger and employee of the federal government.He was a member of Masons and Odd Fellows.Fishing and travel were among his favorite pastimes. Since his retirement, he and Betty Ann visited all the contiguous 48 states.Survivors include his wife; son Scott Arthur Dwire; daughter Ann Clydette Connally; grandchildren Mark Vincent Connally, Teya Lisa Connally, Sheena Marie Connally, Kurt Hughlon Connally and Von Tanner Connally; sister Barbara Smith; brother Louis Dwire; and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his grandson Kevin N. Dwire.Plans are being made for a memorial service to be held in May at the New Castle Cemetery.
