John Frederick “Frosty” Bowen, 62, of Rifle, passed away Sept. 22, 2008. Frosty was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Colorado Springs to John Frederick and Leatha Georgia (Brown) Bowen. The family moved to the Rifle area when he was young. He spent summers herding sheep as a young man with his family. Frosty worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the NRA and Rifle Sportsmen’s Club. He is survived by daughters Tammi (Bowen) McNeece and Janice Bowen; sister Sue Brown; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Frosty was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Rifle Funeral Home.
