John (Jack) Edward Robinson
John (Jack) Edward Robinson, 79, passed away May 3, 2008, at his home in Battlement Mesa.Jack was born July 24, 1928, in Clawson, Mich., to Landon and Maida Robinson. He spent many happy hours in his youth roaming the Flat Tops and DeBeque Canyon. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a flight engineer during the Korean War. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Carmen Lee Kruse, on June 6, 1948, in Idledale. A man with a true entrepreneurial spirit, he developed and brought to the international market several innovative engineering microfilm machines under his Denver-based company, Robinson Graphics. Jack retired in 1992 to devote his time to his second love, the game of golf. In 2000, he began a second career as partner with his son, Scott, in Western Slope Trailer Sales.John is survived by his wife; sons Scott (Debra) Robinson and Craig (Monica) Robinson; daughter Leslie Colella; and grandchildren Jeremy Colella, Ian Colella, Nate and Ashley Robinson, Brittany and Cole Beaudry, Jesse Robinson and Tony Robinson.In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests donations to Roaring Fork Hospice, 1905 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
