John S. Beres

John S. Beres, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, after a short battle with cancer. He was 64.

He was born May 10, 1938, in Walsenburg, Colo., to John and Mary Beres. He graduated from Meeker (Colo.) High School.

Mr. Beres worked in the mining industry.

He loved to fish, hunt, watch the Denver Broncos and spend time with his family.

He is survived by wife Linda Beres, of Grand Junction; brother and sister-in-law Harry and Shirley Beres, of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Lee Conrardy; daughters and son-in-law Jeanetta and Gene Ray, and Terre Niesham; sons and daughter-in-law John Beres Jr., and Gary B. and Lindsey Beres; eight grandchildren; former wife Nelda Beres; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 3115 D 1/2 Road in Grand Junction.

Martin Mortuary of Grand Junction is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John Beres Memorial Fund at the Bank of Grand Junction, 326 Main St., Grand Junction, CO 81501.
