John William Baker died Aug. 27, 2007, in Rifle.He was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Denver. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1961.John married Sharon Shrader March 1, 1964. He built a log home with family and friends in Silt in 1999.John retired from Xcel Energy in 2002 after 38 years.He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished every moment with his family. His favorite pastimes included tinkering with and driving his tractors. He especially loved giving tractor rides to the grandkids.John is survived by his wife; son Johnny Baker of Parker; daughters Michelle Brittenham and Christy Ciccarone, both of Parker; grandchildren Abby Baker, Grant and Avery Ciccarone, Joe and Harley Brittenham; brother Jim Baker of Lakewood; sister Dorothy Reichow of Thornton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Southeast Christian Church, 9650 Jordan Road in Parker.In lieu of flowers or donations for the family, please send contributions in John’s name to The Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1245 East Colfax Ave., Suite 400, Denver, CO 80218.
